Can I Eat and Drink when Taking Zeolite?

The answer to this is YES! Zeolite does not interfere with digestion, so it is perfectly safe to take before you eat on an empty stomach, after you eat on a full stomach, or while eating and filling your stomach.

There are multiple zeolite products made by sub-par zeolite companies that have odd directions around consuming food and drinks while taking their health supplement. Many of these directions state something along the lines of, “Do not eat or drink 2 minutes before or after using this product,” or “Never consume on an empty stomach.” Zeolite has no adverse reactions with drink or food. (Ironically, many of the zeolite health supplements that list these requirements are in liquid form, which essentially means that it is zeolite powder in water.) Furthermore, zeolite doesn’t have some kind of special activation process that will be interrupted by eating. Rather, it can be mixed with any food or drink because it won’t interact or be broken down by the food or stomach acid.  It takes about 6 to 8 hours for zeolite to circulate throughout the body and absorb any positively charged toxins it encounters.

Drinking Alcohol with Zeolite

Zeolite helps lessen the effects of hangovers.

Zeolite helps lessen the effects of hangovers.

Zeolite is known to lessen the effects of hangovers. In short, when the blood-alcohol level rises, liver enzymes work hard at detoxifying the body. When the blood-alcohol level is too high, these enzymes are unable to work fast enough, causing toxic metabolites to be produced. These metabolites poison the body, and create side-effects, such as nausea, headaches, and dizziness, which collectively are usually referred to as a hangover.

Congeners are a by-product of the distilling and fermentation process, which are toxic to the body and worsen the effects of hangovers. If large doses of zeolite are taken while consuming alcohol it can help relieve these symptoms by trapping and removing them from the body safely.

Fasting and Zeolite

Fasting and Zeolite

Zeolite health supplements are not affected by eating and drinking. So fasting is not necessary for making the supplement more effective!

Many people choose to fast as a way of cleansing the body. Often, this is done before performing a new detox regiment in order to “clean the slate,” so to speak. This is also true of some people who start taking a zeolite health supplement to detox.  They are instructed to fast by misinformed zeolite companies that have not done the proper research, and therefore aren’t very knowledgeable about zeolite and how it works.

If one fasts, the toxins are still sitting in the body’s cells. If one eats and drinks, the toxins are still sitting in the body’s cells. They are not going to come out until the zeolite pulls them out, and whether or not you ate or drank anything is completely irrelevant to the detoxification process. It’s true that drinking only water for a while will help flush some of the toxins out, but not nearly enough of them.

Try Zeolite Pure

Zeolite Pure is the purest, most economical zeolite product on the market. It contains nothing but the most effective zeolite powder. The powder needs to be mixed into a drink or foods, such as yogurt or applesauce. So eat and drink as much as you like when using a zeolite health supplement! It will not affect the detoxing process.

I get very bad hangovers, and not from drinking too much. With any amount of alcohol. Dizziness and nausea. I tried what you said and took zeolite the next morning to get rid of my headache and nausea. It did help settle my stomach a little but did not make the hangover go away completely. I have the zeolite powder. I took one tablespoon. Should I have taken more?

      Hi Sheena,
I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear about this in the article, but you should take the zeolite while you’re drinking. If you take it the next day, it might help a bit, but the metabolites are already poisoning your body. Zeolite takes about 6-8 hours to exit the body. During that time, it will absorb the metabolites, so hopefully you will wake up feeling less of the effects of a hangover. You can take as many tablespoons of zeolite as you want with alcohol. Too much isn’t going to hurt you, but only be wasted. Try taking one tablespoon for every 2 to 3 drinks and see how you feel the next day. You can always increase or lessen the amount of zeolite based on your needs.

And also, you could mix the zeolite into the alcoholic drink, though I’m not sure how it will affect carbonated drinks like beer. It might be better if you just mix it in water and drink it between drinks. This way you will also be hydrating your body. I hope this information helps!

Can I drink Smart Water with Electrolytes while taking Zeolite?

    • M.E.K. says:

Absolutely. ZEO Health zeolite is preloaded with elemental calcium and potassium and will swap them out for heavy metals and toxins (it’s called a cat-ion exchange based on atomic weight). It will not pick up electrolytes or any other beneficial mineral.
